Previous Airport and Airline Concession
Development Projects
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
MarketPlace Development was selected by the Port of Seattle to provide leasing and concessions management services for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which was in the midst of a multi-year capital improvement project designed to add the capacity needed to serve a growing region and transform Sea-Tac into a world-class airport. In this role, MarketPlace worked with the Port of Seattle to lease ten pivotal retail and food and beverage locations in the Central Terminal and created a strong sense of place by leasing to such local tenants as Fireworks, Ivar's Seafood, and Pallino Pastaria.
San Francisco International Airport
MarketPlace Development was responsible for the tenant outreach,
leasing, construction management and start-up management of
the food & beverage program in the New International Terminal
at San Francisco
International Airport. The New International Terminal opened
in December 2000 and includes 17 food & beverage locations
featuring first-class Bay-area restaurateurs, such as Andale, Ebisu, and Firewood Grill. MarketPlace
was also responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive
wayfinding program for this terminal.
O’Hare International Airport and Chicago Midway
Airport
MarketPlace Development led the planning effort of a three company
team selected by the City of Chicago to professionalize 40,000
SF of existing specialty retail and to plan for the implementation
of a first-class retail, food & beverage program at O’Hare
in its three domestic terminals. The team produced a comprehensive
plan for Terminals 1, 2, and 3, that recommended new retail areas,
food courts and other state-of-the-art retail concepts to be strategically
located throughout the domestic terminals.
Detroit Metropolitan Airport
MarketPlace Development worked with Northwest Airlines to provide
retail programming and planning advice in the design of a new
$940 million, 74 gate terminal currently under construction at
Detroit
Metropolitan Airport. This work was done as part of a team
including the airline, architects and engineers, and representatives
of Wayne County.
